Buko "Coconut" Juice and Salabat (Fresh Ginger Tea with Honey)
Filipino Arroz Caldo (Chicken Rice Porridge)
Arroz Caldo is a very popular comfort food in the Philippines and everyone's favorite! This Filipino rice porridge is a great representation of Philippine history as this dish is a combination of Spanish (the Spaniards gave it the name arroz caldo which literally means "hot rice") and Chinese (its origin, congee) influences. It is made with chicken and rice and seasoned with garlic, onion, ginger, and fish sauce and topped with crunchy toasted garlic, scallions and boiled egg.
Lumpiang Togue at Hipon (Vegetable Spring Rolls with Shrimp)
Lumpiang Togue are large sized spring rolls filled with mixed vegetables, main ingredient is bean sprouts, usually served with vinegar. I love adding shrimps to it to enhance the flavor and aroma, making it more mouth-watering!
Tokwa't Baboy (Fried Tofu with Pork)
Tokwa’t baboy is a typical Philippine appetizer. It consists of either boiled pork ears or pork belly and deep-fried tofu, and is served in a mixture of soy sauce, vinegar, chopped onions, scallions and chili peppers which is optional
Cheesy Maja Blanca (Coconut Milk Pudding with Sweet Corn and Cheese)
Maja Blanca is a Filipino dessert made primarily from coconut milk. Also known as coconut pudding, it is usually served during fiestas and during the holidays, especially Christmas. Other ingredients are sweet corn, cornstarch, sugar and cheese.

Hello, I’m Claire from Manila (Philippines). I’m a foodie at heart. Just like everyone else, I adore FOOD! ♡ Cooking is my passion and fitness is my hobby. I love trying out delicious dishes from different countries around the world. I believe that the only way you’ll be able to eat whatever you like till you get old - is to keep yourself fit and healthy. At an early age, I was diagnosed with high LDL cholesterol (genetic inherited/family history), and it continues to increase as time goes by. I hate the fact that I can’t be a vegan/vegetarian - well I tried, but it just made me depressed and sad. I don't want to give up eating "this and that” just because I have a high LDL when there are preventive measures that can be tried in the kitchen - and that is my hobby. And in the process, I began learning how to make recipes that are not healthy and turning them into healthy ones, that way I don't have to give up on my favorite foods. I think that’s how my love for inventing and recreating recipes started. Of course, I know how to prepare the traditional authentic cuisines of my country and that’s what I’m going to share with you, but as a bonus, I can advice and share with you as well the healthier version of each dish - plus an exercise routine to match enjoying eating them and not feeling guilty at the same time - if you’d love to! こんにちは。フィリピンのマニラから来ましたクレアです。 私は根っからの食道楽で、皆さんと同じように食べることが大好きです♡ 料理は私が最も好きなこと、そして趣味はフィットネスです。 世界中のあらゆる国の美味しい料理を食べてみることが大好きです。 好きなものを食べられるという事は、いつまでも元気で健康であり続ける秘訣だと私は思っています。 私は昔LDLコレステロールが高いと診断され(遺伝や家系によるもの)、年々その数値は上がり続けていました。 ベジダリアンになろうと頑張ったけれど、なれなかったことが辛くとても落ち込み悲しくなりました。 たとえ高LDLでも私の趣味である料理の中で何か予防策があるなら、色々なものを食べるということを諦めたくなかったのです。 そうして食べたいものを諦めなくてもいいように、ヘルシーじゃないもの、ヘルシーにしてくれるレシピを学び始めました。 そうやってレシピを新しく考えたり再現したりすることこそが私の大好きなことなんだと感じました。 私の故郷の本格的な伝統料理を皆さんと作ることはもちろん、それぞれの料理をよりヘルシーなものにするアドバイスもできますよ。 また食べることを楽しみながら無理せずできるエクササイズもよかったらお教えします!(^_^) 仲良くなりましょう︎!お会いできるのを楽しみにしています!
