The dishes I am introducing here are the dishes which my mom makes and it has a twist of Penang taste! This menu is good for brunch or lunch, or for the big eaters, dinner!
As a starter for lunch, there will be prawn fritters; cucur udang.
The rice dish, called Nasi Lemak Kuning is famous in northen Malaysia, especially in Penang, my hometown. the chicken Rendang, the main dish is a dish which needs to be prepared in advance and cooked slowly to perfection. To me, this is a very special dish that I want to share with everyone because it uses most of the main Asian ingredients and one of the most famous Malaysian dish! A combination of nasi lemak and chicken rendang is not complete without acar timun nenas (cucumber pineapple acar) which add crunchiness and freshness to the whole dish, topped with boiled eggs.
The desert will be a pengat pisang, to be enjoyed with fresh Sabah tea!
This is a traditional fritter made with moyashi, chives, onion, flour, egg, turmeric powder and fried in oil. Taken hot with ketchup and mayonaise.
The jasmine rice is cooked with coconut milk, turmeric and pandan leaves.
This is a slow cooking dish that takes about 1.5 to cook. It uses exotic Asian spices and its super delicious because of the coconut milk, turmeric, fennel and galangal.
This is a quick saute pickle style cucumber, red onion and pineapple dish to be eaten with nasi lemak and chicken rendang
This is a desert of banana, sago, hot of ginger and coconut milk. Eaten cold or hot with a cup of fresh Sabah Tea!
