This meny includes the most common and favourite dishes in my country: we cook Pilaf every Sunday for the whole family; since Pilaf might be a bit heavy, it goes well with vegetable salad with no dressing, such as Shakarob or Eggplants. Oliv'e salad is also very much loved, we make it on special occasions such as Birthdays or New Year's Eve. Crepes is another dish for the sundays when the whole family gathers at the table and enjoyes a freshly made dessert
Home-made juice from apples and raspberry, with few spoons of sugar for taste. Very healthy and easy to make.
Boiled potato, carrot and egg, green pea and picked cucumber, boiled beef with a bit of fresh parsley. My family's recipe of famous Russian/Soviet New Year salad.
A salad cooked in my home region every day for every meal: tomato, cucumber, onion, sweet paprika and fresh parsley. Add a bit of salt and no need in dressing.
Famous national dish of Tajikistan - Oshi palof, a.k.a. Pilaf: fried/steamed rice with beef, carrots and onion. Spices: cumin and paprika.
Very easy and delicious garnish, fried eggplant topped with chopped parsley and garlic.
Easy and fun to make: flour, milk with egg, sugar, salt and a bit of baking soda. Spoon of vegetable oil in the batter and a drop of oil on the frying pan - will be easier to fry. Garnish with anything you like: jam, honey, yogurt or sour cream.
Hello! I'm Hilola, from Tajikistan!
I like to make friends and also tell people about my country, since Tajikistan is not very famous and quite small. However our culture and traditions has long history and I would like to share them with you.
